I moved to Sumner County in 1997. After establishing one business and starting another, my wife (Sylvia) and I decided it was time to start giving back. We were led to be youth Sunday school teachers at our church. This was accomplished by an act of God thru our middle daughter volunteering us without our knowledge. During the next four years we became aware of peer pressures facing our youth in their schools and their daily lives. In the winter of 2005 I had the blessing to serve on a Grand Jury. Afterward I was requested by Attorney General Ray Whitley to attend the conception meeting of this coalition. My wife and I thought that again this would be a good way to give back to the county we loved so much. During the first year I worked as Vice President along side our first President (Ron Smith). During the next years of my Term as President I will increase the Coalition membership, by bringing our Mission to all sectors of our community. It is my hope that our Coalition can provide solutions that will keep the pain of substance abuse from your family; or, at least solutions to reduce the damage, the stress, the pain, and to speed recovery.
